Cornide topical solution 10 ml: salicylic acid 20% + lactic acid 5% + polidocanol 2% in collodion-type base (per pharmacy monograph: 2 g SA + 0.5 g lactic + 0.2 g polidocanol per 10 g).

• Used for corns, plantar warts (verrucae), calluses and localized hyperkeratotic areas of the foot (pharmacy monograph).Population: Adults/children per monograph (not under 2 years)

• Do not use in hypersensitivity to salicylic acid or any component; avoid on navel, hairy areas, genitals or face; do not use in patients with renal failure; not for children under 2 years (pharmacy monograph).Per the manufacturer

• Avoid mucous membranes; wash with plenty of water if contact occurs. Increased salicylate absorption if inflamed/broken skin. In pregnancy use only on small area (<5 cm²) if needed (pharmacy monograph).Per the manufacturer

• Methotrexate; sulfonylureasModerateAbsorbed salicylic acid may increase methotrexate adverse effects and potentiate sulfonylurea hypoglycemia (pharmacy monograph).

• Salicylic acid: Softens and sheds hyperkeratotic stratum corneum.
• Lactic acid: Enhances keratolytic effect of salicylic acid on hyperkeratotic skin.
• Polidocanol: Long-acting local anaesthetic reducing pain on application (pharmacy monograph).
