• Increased systemic absorption may cause Cushing's syndrome and reversible HPA-axis suppression; risk increases with large areas, occlusion (including nappies), thin skin such as the face, broken skin, prolonged use, and in children. Avoid prolonged use on the face; on eyelids keep out of the eye (cataract/glaucoma). Refer patients with blurred vision to an ophthalmologist.
