• Severe myelosuppression: severe or life-threatening neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia and febrile neutropenia occur; deaths from neutropenic infection/sepsis have been reported. • Trifluridine: After uptake into cancer cells, trifluridine is incorporated into DNA, interferes with DNA synthesis and inhibits cell proliferation (US label).
• Tipiracil: Increases trifluridine exposure by inhibiting its metabolism by thymidine phosphorylase (US label).
