• Hypersensitivity to the product or excipients; concomitant other sympathomimetic decongestants; cardiovascular disease including hypertension; diabetes mellitus; phaeochromocytoma; prostatic hypertrophy; hyperthyroidism; closed-angle glaucoma; MAOIs (or within 14 days) and beta-blockers; inflammation of the nasal vestibule; trans-sphenoidal hypophysectomy or surgery exposing the dura mater; children under 6 years; rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis.International label, same formulation · electronic medicines compendium (emc), UK

• Do not use decongestants for more than five consecutive days; prolonged or excessive use may cause rebound congestion and/or atrophy of the nasal mucosa. Use with caution in patients with strong reactions to sympathomimetics, occlusive vascular disease or tri/tetracyclic antidepressant treatment; stop if hallucinations, restlessness or sleep disturbances occur.
