• Use primarily for progressive, potentially life-threatening fungal infections, not for noninvasive forms such as oral thrush or vaginal/esophageal candidiasis in patients with normal neutrophil counts. • Acute infusion reactions (fever, shaking chills, hypotension, nausea, vomiting, headache, tachypnoea) are common 1 to 3 hours after starting; rapid infusion has caused hypotension, hypokalaemia, arrhythmias and shock.
