Montelukast 10 mg film-coated tablets (SINGULAIR, MSD), a leukotriene receptor antagonist for asthma and allergic rhinitis, Egyptian market.

• Prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma (from 12 months); prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (from 6 years); relief of seasonal (from 2 years) and perennial (from 6 months) allergic rhinitis, reserved for patients with inadequate response or intolerance to alternative therapies. • Boxed warning: serious neuropsychiatric events (agitation, aggression, depression, sleep disturbances, suicidal thoughts and behaviour including suicide) have been reported. • Not for reversal of bronchospasm in acute asthma attacks; keep rescue medication available. Do not abruptly substitute for inhaled or oral corticosteroids. Aspirin-sensitive patients should continue to avoid aspirin/NSAIDs.
