TauroLock-HEP500 (TauroPharm GmbH, Germany; Paxton in Egypt) is a catheter lock solution instilled into central venous access devices between treatments to prevent catheter-related biofilm/infection and occlusion. Recommended for haemodialysis catheters; contraindicated in HIT, hypersensitivity to citrate/taurolidine, or interacting medication. Must be aspirated before the next use; not for systemic injection. Multi-dose vial to be used within 48 hours of opening.
