TauroLock-U25.000 (TauroPharm GmbH, Germany; Paxton in Egypt) is a catheter lock solution instilled into central venous access devices between treatments to prevent catheter-related biofilm/infection and occlusion. Heparin-free option with urokinase for strong anti-occlusion prophylaxis; contraindicated with known allergy to taurolidine, citrate or urokinase. Must be aspirated before the next use; not for systemic injection. Urokinase freeze-dried powder is dissolved in 5 mL TauroLock before instillation.
