• Boxed warning: fluoroquinolones have been associated with disabling and potentially irreversible serious adverse reactions including tendinitis and tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy and central nervous system effects, and may exacerbate muscle weakness in myasthenia gravis (avoid).
