• Iron sucrose (ferric hydroxide saccharate complex): Aqueous complex of polynuclear iron(III)-hydroxide in sucrose; after IV administration it dissociates into iron and sucrose, and the iron is transported bound to transferrin for incorporation into haemoglobin (US Venofer label).
