Magicrelide 0.5 mg capsules (Medizen / Magic Pharma), pack of 10: anagrelide, a platelet-reducing agent for thrombocythaemia secondary to myeloproliferative neoplasms.

• Cardiovascular toxicity: torsades de pointes and ventricular tachycardia reported; anagrelide prolongs QTc and increases heart rate. • Case-report data have not identified a drug-associated risk of major birth defects, miscarriage or adverse maternal or fetal outcomes; delayed fetal development occurred in rats at about 97 times the maximum clinical dose. • Anagrelide: Precise platelet-lowering mechanism unknown; in cell culture it suppresses transcription factors (GATA-1, FOG-1) required for megakaryocytopoiesis, reducing platelet production. It is also a PDE3 inhibitor.
