Truvada 30 film-coated tablets (Gilead Sciences, distributed by Ibis Pharma in Egypt): fixed-dose emtricitabine 200 mg + tenofovir disoproxil 245 mg (as fumarate; 300 mg tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) for HIV-1 treatment with other antiretrovirals and for HIV-1 pre-exposure prophylaxis.

• HIV-1 treatment (with efavirenz, adults): most common (10% or more) were diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, headache, dizziness, depression, insomnia, abnormal dreams and rash; skin hyperpigmentation occurred in 3%.
