• Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any excipient; previous hypersensitivity reactions (asthma, urticaria, angioedema or rhinitis) after ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs; history of GI bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy; active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer or haemorrhage; conditions with increased bleeding tendency; severe heart failure (NYHA IV), hepatic failure and renal failure; and the last trimester of pregnancy.International label, same formulation · electronic medicines compendium (emc)

• High-dose ibuprofen (2400 mg/day) may be associated with a small increased risk of arterial thrombotic events; patients with uncontrolled hypertension, congestive heart failure (NYHA II-III), ischaemic heart disease, peripheral arterial or cerebrovascular disease should be treated only after careful consideration and high doses avoided.International label, same formulation · electronic medicines compendium (emc)
• Severe cutaneous adverse reactions (including SJS, TEN, DRESS and AGEP), which can be fatal, have been reported; withdraw ibuprofen immediately at the first signs. • CYP2C9 inhibitors (e.g. voriconazole, fluconazole)Co-administration may increase ibuprofen exposure (S(+)-ibuprofen by about 80-100% with voriconazole or fluconazole); consider reducing the ibuprofen dose, particularly with high doses.electronic medicines compendium (emc)
