• No published studies of desvenlafaxine in pregnant women; epidemiologic studies of venlafaxine have not shown a clear association with adverse developmental outcomes. Animal studies showed no teratogenicity, but fetotoxicity and pup deaths occurred in rats at 4.5 times the human exposure. Risks of untreated depression should be considered.
